We are pretty lucky in London, Ontario to have several pretty solid Chinese/Asian food restaurants to choose from. I always enjoy stopping in at Ben Thanh for some awesome Thai food whenever I am downtown. And when I am in the mood for delicious duck or lobster, Green Tea on Wonderland Road is a fav of mine.
This past weekend, we visited another old stand-by of ours for Asian cuisine, Tasty Coast on Springbank Drive. Love this place for both take-out or for a casual dinner in the restaurant. There are numerous excellent dishes on the menu including the Tasty Spicy Chicken (great dish if you like peanut sauce), the Maple Honey Garlic Steak Kew and the Malaysian Butter Prawns. But the one dish that keeps us coming back is the Sauteed Eggplant with Garlic Meat Sauce. This outstanding offering tastes simply amazing and is unlike any other Asian dish I’ve tried. It features tender, melt-in-your-mouth Oriental eggplant in a special house-made garlic and minced pork sauce. It’s the kind of dish that when your stomach is telling you it’s stuffed, you just have to have one more spoon full. Super rich and flavourful. If you like eggplant, you will LOVE this dish. Highly recommended. For now, back to the cage.
