The Shore Club Ottawa

One of our most favorite dining experiences is enjoying a leisurely meal at an upscale steakhouse. We saved our last dinner on our Ottawa trip for The Shore Club – Seafood Steak Cocktails. Notice that the seafood comes first, so we were looking forward to indulging in some outstanding fish and seafood.

Absolutely love the decor and ambiance at The Shore Club. Lots of wood and glass, perfect mood lighting and glittery bling accents here and there. Decidedly elegant and upscale for sure. Their logo and brand is very sleek and stylish too. All the little details make you feel like its going to be a special evening.

We started with a steakhouse classic Caesar Salad and an order of fresh oysters. Salad was crisp and flavourful and the oysters were sweet and salty delicious. I order one of each oyster variety they were offering – I have always loved Malpeque, but I think the Wellfleet was my favorite on this night.

For our main courses, we went with Herb Dusted Sea Bass with an ancho chili aioli and the Pan Fried Pickerel with a to-die-for leek and lemon beurre blanc. This had to be two of the best pieces of fish we have ever tasted. And the beurre blanc was rich and decadent – the perfect companion to the melt-in-your mouth pickerel. Our daughter ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken – a humongous serving for a children’s menu dish. But we weren’t complaining as the chicken was incredibly juicy with a perfectly spiced crispy batter. Delicious!

Really no complaints about our evening at The Shore Club. The service was excellent too – attentive, professional and very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Highly recommended when you want to treat yourself to a special dinner. For now, back to the cage.
