Amanda Marshall Rocks Caesars

I would be pretty hard pressed to pick one genre of music that is my favorite. My tastes are pretty eclectic and include everything from Rap, Rock, Hip Hop, Jazz, Blues, Soul, R & B, Pop and Rumba Flamenco – just to name a few. But I’ve always really appreciated talented female vocalists. From Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald, to Whitney Houston, Janis Joplin and Adele, I have no problem adding Amanda Marshall to this esteemed list. Especially after I saw her perform live for the first time in concert at Caesars in Windsor.

First a quick word about the Colosseum at Caesars Windsor. I love this type of venue. While big stadium shows and outdoor concerts are pretty awesome, for a more intimate experience, you can’t beat a concert hall like the Colosseum. Seats 5000, excellent acoustics, outstanding lighting, super comfortable chairs – what more can you ask for! This was my first show at Caesars, but it won’t be my last. Highly recommended. Check out their concert line-up to see if any performers fit your fancy.

Oh Amanda, where have you been?!? I remember wearing out your debut album way back in 1995. So long ago, but seems like yesterday after seeing her perform. With only 3 albums to date, its incredible how many great songs she has in her library. What a shame (maybe even a crime) that she has been locked in legal wranglings with her record label. What I wouldn’t give for a 4th album of new material. Hopefully, that day will come soon.

She is such an incredible talent with such an incredible voice, and she looks fantastic too! Ms. Marshall performs with so much passion, her soulful and powerful voice seems to make your heart flutter. Definitely worth seeing if you get the chance. Here are a few more shots from a very memorable concert. For now, back to the cage.
